Should I Die
-Tariqul Islam Siam
Should I die
Staring at the firefly
Which you called the
light of life
Should I die
With the
possibilities I had
With the dreams of my
dad
Should I die
Letting my mother
sink in the ocean of tear
Baring her hands of
cares
Should I die
With all the hope that was left
Leaving the garden
that I made
Should I die
For the last time
looking at the crimson sky
And leaving a
hopeless sigh
Should I die
Leaving my smiling
brother
Who won’t again smile
ever?
Should I die
Beside my
grandfather’s pyre
Leaving the people, I
admire
Should I die
With an uncured eye
Which was to cry
Because it couldn’t
see
The gleaming beauty
Of the moonlit night
Where the moon shines
Everything so bright
Should I die
Like the sun, who lets
his light
To collide with the darkness of twilight
But finally, it goes
off
Like me when my soul must fly
Should I die without
saying goodbye?
To my dearest friends
But my life will indeed end
Should I die
Leaving the most
beautiful lie
That led my life
That lie is nothing
but a hope
That told me
You aren’t going to
leave your abode
But one day the truth
came
And defined the end
of my game
I smile and leave a
meaningful sigh
And saying this world
a silent goodbye
Finally,
I die…
